AWA Radiolette C87 1932 33

AWA Radiolette C87 1932 33

This is to our knowledge the only Art Nouveau radio in the world.

Advertised as a portable that can be "tucked under the arm and removed from one room to another without any difficulty - giving you a radio set in every room for the price of one" it retailed for 17 pounds and 17 shillings a small fortune in 1933

Far from portable it weights 10 kilos.

The TRF model had a very short life and was superceded in the same year by the 110/C104 Superheterodyne.

A GE "badged" version of this radio also exists with a GE logo in place if the AWA logo.

There is also a rare premium dish made out of the same material.
