Trademark Orion The Orion brand was created in 1925 when the Hungarian Wolfram Lamp Factory (Magyar Wolframlámpagyár) started under this name. Production capacity was increased considerably from 1930. Orion became the market leader in radio equipment in Hungary, with Philips (from 1931) in second place. In the early 1930s Orion, together with Philips, Telefunken and Standard ITT, put a "popular receiver" (Néprádió) on the market. A total of 45,000 copies have been sold.
During the 1930s, Orion exported radio sets under the Tungsram label, including to Sweden and the Netherlands.
