Trademark IMCA

IMCA, a very prestigious Italian brand, was born in the mid-30s by the will of Eng. Italo Filippa, owner of "Imballaggi Cartoni e Affini Alessandria" (IMCA, in fact). Being passionate about radios, he began to produce devices characterized by some of his patents, among which that of the "rotating drum" is probably the best known of him. The possibility of replacing the rotating drum in order to modify the cover was the most prestigious technical feature. The care in the assembly, the use of the highest quality materials (eg the covers of the chromed transformers) made IMCA production a production that was not really "popular". The cost of the appliances was very high, but they could easily be considered objects of furniture. The radiophonographs, then, were even more valuable and technologically advanced.

But all this luxury and technology made IMCA devices decidedly beyond the reach of most of the population at the end of World War II. Very few could afford such devices and Eng. Filippa could not help but hand over everything, in the 1950s, to Radiomarelli.
